Garden update from April 4th – a bit late in coming, the next one will be quicker.
We had a cold night or two (almost freezing, but not quite) that browned quite a few of the lemon basil leaves, but the tomato plants seem to be doing quite well. The poor pepper plant seems stuck at nearly the same size as when we planted it.
After talking about it every spring for the past ten years, it’s finally happened! Yes, despite our horrible climate and soil to grow anything other than weeds and cactus, we now have a teeny tiny vegetable garden.
We moved earlier this year. In many, many ways, it was a big step up from the old house. However, one decidedly step down was going from a house with a 2 car garage to a house with a very narrow carport. Besides the obvious differences, there was a major annoyance. The carport didn’t have any lights.
I’ll blame it on the weather. With a December cold front blowing in a couple of days ago, and me being ultra-productive nowadays (it’s all relative, don’t forget), I decided to get all artsy-craftsy while staying inside and warm.
Just going through the photos in the hard drive (download Picasa3 if you want an easy time of it). Found this cool shot I took in Cuernavaca, Mexico in July of 2009.
