Ironman Cozumel – just the numbers, please

Monday, July 12th, 2010

So, I’ve gone and signed up for another Ironman™ race, my first race on foreign soil – Ironman Cozumel.  I’m not going to write much, if anything,  about the training because it’s as boring to write as it is to read.

A Lovely Morning in Montgomery, TX

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Ivonne and I took a drive out east this past weekend to take part in the Iron Star Half Iron Triathlon in Montgomery, TX, with a bunch of other folks from Austin T3.   It turned out to be a great way to end my “up and down” 2008 season.

Weekend of Racing Recap

Monday, October 20th, 2008

My legs are a little sore this morning.

Saturday and Sunday were back-to-back days of racing.  They weren’t long distances, but they were long enough that running hard both days took its toll on me.

Upcoming Weekend of Racing

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

In an effort to race myself into better shape, I’ve got a back-to-back weekend of races planned.

The first is the TX Tri quasi-olympic distance race down in Canyon Lake on Saturday.  It’s supposed to be a pretty hilly race, so it should be tough – distances are 1.5K S, 42K B, 9.5K R, so not exactly Olympic, but close enough.  It’ll be interesting to see who shows up for this race.  When it was a spring race, the times were faster.

Then, on Sunday is the IBM Uptown Classic 10K.  It’s relatively flat, but I’ll be trying to drop my times down from last year by a bit, so it’ll be painful.  I’m hoping the weather stays nice and cool for this one.  This is the race that sent a group of us down a wrong turn last year, so I have no idea what my time really was.

After those, just a few more events on the calendar – IronStar 1/2 Iron on the 9th of November, maybe the Tour das Hugel the week after, the Turkey Trot of course, and Decker 1/2 marathon.   Lots of fun racing packed into the rest of the year…
